Matt Ciasulli is a 2002 graduate of Easton High School where he competed for Hall of Fame coach Steve Powell. Matt’s career for the Red Rovers saw him win a pair of District 11 Championships, three Northeast Regional titles and three PIAA State Championships during his sophomore, junior and senior seasons. In 1999-2000, Ciasulli lost in the District 11 finals to Northampton’s Aaron Suranofsky (4-3), but avenged that loss in the Regional Finals the following week, 3-1 in overtime. Ciasulli captured his first State title after blanking West Allegheny’s Chris Lape in the 2000 finals, 5-0. In 2001, he repeated his win over Lape in the State quarterfinals, 8-0, and shutout Moon’s Dan Pacitti in the State finals by the same 8-0 score. In 2001-02, he shutout Northampton freshman Joey Ecklof in the District 11 finals (5-0) to win his second District 11 title, blanked Whitehall’s Jay Morrison in the Northeast Regional finals, 6-0, before edging Greensburg-Salem senior Brian Sticca in the state finals, 4-2 in overtime. Ciasulli finished his high school career with a 133-11 won-loss record. He attended Lehigh University where he was a three-time NCAA qualifier for the Mountain Hawks. He presently owns and operates Sonic Excavations, LLC.
