Steve is a 2008 graduate of State College High School and a 2013 graduate of Cornell University. In high school, Bosak was a four-time state qualifier, a three-time state placewinner and a two-time PIAA state runner-up. In 2007, he advanced to the 145-pound state finals where he lost to Shaler’s Nick Nelson, 7-3. The following year, in 2008, Bosak faced Hempfield’s Jake Kemerer in the 160 lb. title bout, dropping a 6-5 decision. In 2006, Bosak finished fourth after being pinned in the quarter finals in 1:00 by eventual state champion Ashton Primus from Connellsville. Three of his four losses in the three PIAA State Championships came at the hands of eventual state champions. Bosak was a four-time District 6 champion and served as team captain his senior season. Bosak was the 2008 Powerade Champion at 160 pounds and was also a runner-up at the 2008 Senior Nationals. In 2007, he placed third at 152 pounds at Junior Nationals. He completed his high school career with a 137-24 record. Bosak was a three-time NCAA All-American at Cornell including winning the 2012 NCAA title at 184 pounds as a junior where he defeated Penn State’s Quentin Wright, 4-2 in overtime in the finals. In 2011, he finished fourth at NCAA Championships and earned a third place NCAA medal as a senior in 2013, both at 184 pounds. The four-time NCAA qualifier won an EIWA title in 2013 and was a four-time All-Ivy pick, including a first teamer in each of his final three seasons. Bosak closed his Big Red career with a record of 131-30.
